Special Issues

Authors of abstracts highly graded by the Scientific Committee will be invited to submit a full paper either to the International Journal of Food Microbiology or to Microbial Risk Analysis, depending upon the contribution’s scope, to be published in the ICPMF11 Special Issue (SI) volumes.

Scopes covered by the Int J Food Micro SI:

These articles should deal with the application of predictive modelling in microbial interactions, intrinsic and extrinsic factors affecting microbial survival and growth in foods, and spoilage of foods; microorganisms involved in food and beverage fermentations; sanitary quality of foods, biocontrol, microbiological aspects of food preservation and novel preservation techniques; rapid, automated and molecular methods when validated in food systems; and molecular biology of microorganisms as related to food spoilage, foodborne disease and food fermentations.

Scopes covered by the MRA SI:

These articles should deal with at least one component of microbial risk assessment (i.e. hazard identification, hazard characterisation, exposure assessment or risk characterization), full quantitative risk assessment models of pathogens and simulation of scenarios, risk studies applied to microbial ecology, quantitative methods for epidemiological studies, novel statistical methods applied to microbiology, systematic reviews and meta-analysis.
